You came from Wheaton because the last thing you tried did not last. The pain came back. The injury kept flaring. The Prairie Path miles left your knee aching again by Tuesday.
Something in the plan was missing.
That is the only thing we look for. We do not treat the spot that hurts and call it a day. We find what is actually causing the problem — the movement pattern, the compensation, the structural issue that has been building for months — and we build one coordinated plan using chiropractic, acupuncture, shockwave, and rehab. Whatever the problem actually needs.
We are True Health Chiropractic and Acupuncture, a Lombard-based clinic serving Wheaton patients. Most Wheaton patients are at our office in about ten to fifteen minutes — east on Roosevelt Road or Butterfield Road, just past Yorktown.

For Wheaton College Athletes, Wheaton North & Wheaton Warrenville South
You play DIII at Wheaton College. Your kid is competing for a starting spot at Wheaton Warrenville South. They missed practice because their shoulder is acting up. The season does not wait while you try rest, ice, and another week of stretching.
We see athletes from Wheaton College football, basketball, soccer, and cross country, plus Wheaton North and Wheaton Warrenville South athletes across every sport. We also see Franklin Middle School and Edison Middle School kids whose sports injuries are starting young.
Most of the time, the injury is not where the parent or the athletic trainer thinks. A volleyball player’s shoulder pain is usually a thoracic mobility problem. A football player’s knee pain is usually a hip stability problem. A baseball player’s elbow pain is usually a shoulder mechanics problem. Your body is compensating, and the loudest part is the part that ends up hurting.
We do a full assessment first, build a sport-specific plan, and work around practice and game schedules. Most parents come in expecting just adjustments. They leave with a real plan that combines chiropractic, soft tissue work, rehab, and acupuncture when it speeds recovery.
For Runners on the Prairie Path, Lincoln Marsh, and Cantigny
Wheaton is one of the most active running communities in DuPage County. The Illinois Prairie Path runs straight through town. Lincoln Marsh Natural Area has miles of trails. Cantigny draws runners from across the region.
The injuries are predictable: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, IT band syndrome, runner’s knee, hip flexor strain, calf strain that came back after the half-marathon.
You have already tried rest. You stretched. You did physical therapy. The pain came back the first week you got back on the trail.
You should not have to just manage this.
For chronic tendon and soft tissue problems that have not responded to other care, we use shockwave therapy. Research-backed, non-invasive, effective for conditions that have been stuck for months or years. We combine it with chiropractic, acupuncture, soft tissue work, and rehab — coordinated under one plan instead of piecemeal across multiple clinics.
For Active Families and Wheaton Park District Youth Athletes
Your kid plays Wheaton Baseball Association, Wheaton Soccer Association, or Wheaton Park District youth basketball. You shuttle them between practices, games, and tournaments. When their shoulder, knee, or back gives them trouble, you do not have weeks to wait for it to resolve on its own.
Same pattern as the older athletes: the injury is rarely where the pain shows up. We trace it back, build a plan that respects their developing body and their sports schedule, and get them back without sitting out the season.
What Makes Our Approach Different
Most chiropractors will adjust the spot that hurts. Some will hand you a generic exercise sheet and a punch card and call it a plan.
We do something different. Every Wheaton patient at True Health Chiropractic and Acupuncture starts with a thorough assessment — not just the painful area, but everything connected to it. We explain what we find in plain language. Then we build one coordinated plan using:
- Chiropractic care for the structural piece
- Acupuncture for pain, systemic issues, and what chiropractic alone does not reach
- Shockwave therapy for chronic tendon and soft tissue problems
- Spinal decompression for disc problems and radiating pain
- Massage therapy and rehab to keep the fix in place
This combination is rare. Most chiropractic clinics offer adjustments only, or adjustments plus one add-on. True Health Chiropractic and Acupuncture brings every modality together under one roof, coordinated by the same care team. That is why Wheaton patients drive to Lombard for us.
Pain is the last thing to show up. We go looking for the rest.

Wheaton Patient FAQ
Do you treat athletes from Wheaton College?
Yes. We see DIII athletes from Wheaton College football, basketball, soccer, cross country, and other programs. We also see Wheaton North, Wheaton Warrenville South, and middle school athletes. We hold same-week visit slots during competition season specifically for active athletes.
How fast can I get a visit during my child’s sports season?
Most new patients are seen within the same week. During the spring and fall sports seasons we hold same-week slots specifically for active athletes who need rapid evaluation between games.
Do you offer acupuncture in Wheaton?
We do not have a Wheaton location. Acupuncture is offered at our Lombard office, a ten to fifteen minute drive east on Roosevelt or Butterfield Road. Most Wheaton patients come to us specifically because chiropractic and acupuncture are coordinated under one plan and one care team.
I run on the Prairie Path — can shockwave really help my plantar fasciitis?
Yes. Shockwave therapy (EPAT) is research-backed for chronic plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, and other tendon and soft tissue problems that have not responded to rest, stretching, or generic PT. It is non-invasive and most patients see improvement within 4 to 6 sessions.
Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
No. You can book directly. If your insurance plan requires a referral, our front desk will help you sort that out at your first visit.
How long is the first visit?
Forty-five to sixty minutes. We do a full history, a hands-on assessment, and explain what we find before any care begins. No treatment starts until you understand the plan.
Ready to find out what is actually causing it?

Conditions We Treat
Most of our patients arrive because a specific condition is not getting better. Here are the most common problems we treat — each linked to a deeper page explaining how we approach it:
- Sciatica — sharp, shooting pain down the leg that has not responded to rest, stretching, or other care
- Herniated and bulging discs — conservative care that helps most patients avoid surgery
- Chronic headaches and migraines — addressing the cervical component most providers miss
- Prenatal pain and pregnancy care — safe, gentle, pregnancy-specific care including the Webster Technique
- Sports injuries — strains, tendinopathies, and movement-related pain for athletes of every level
- Plantar fasciitis — including shockwave therapy for chronic cases that have not responded to other treatment
- Neck pain and desk-related tension — structural correction for chronic neck, shoulder, and tech-neck pain
If your condition is not on this list, call us at (630) 796-2083. We treat a wider range than this list — these are simply the most common.
