You are pregnant and cannot sleep. Or your shoulder is acting up six weeks before your daughter’s volleyball tournament. Or you are training for a half-marathon and your IT band is screaming.
You did not come to a chiropractor for general care. You came for someone who actually understands what your body is doing.
I specialize in two patient populations: athletes and expectant mothers. Both groups need care that respects what their body is going through, not a one-size-fits-all adjustment protocol.
If you are looking for prenatal chiropractic care or sports injury rehab in the Lombard area, book your New Patient Discovery Assessment with me.

Why Prenatal and Sports — Not General Chiropractic
Pregnancy changes structure week by week. The pelvis shifts. The center of gravity moves forward. The low back compensates. Standard adjustments do not account for this. Pregnancy-specific care does.
Sports injuries follow the same logic. A volleyball player’s shoulder pain is rarely a shoulder problem. It is usually thoracic mobility plus rotator cuff weakness plus a movement pattern they have been compensating around for months. Treating just the shoulder will not fix it.
I built my practice around the populations where this kind of detail matters most. That is also why my care plans always combine adjustments with rehab, soft tissue work, and at-home strategies. Adjustments open the door. The rest keeps it open.

Patient Questions About Dr. Simmons
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
Yes, when performed by a trained provider. I use pregnancy-specific techniques designed for the structural changes of each trimester. Care is gentle, safe, and focused on pelvic balance and lumbar comfort. I have worked with expectant mothers from first trimester through delivery.
How fast can my high-school athlete get in during their sports season?
Most new patients see me within the same week. During spring and fall sports seasons I hold same-week slots specifically for active athletes who need rapid evaluation between games.
Do you treat the dad who pulled his back lifting the toddler?
I treat active adults across the board, not just elite athletes. If your back went out at a kid’s birthday party, that counts.
How long is a typical care plan for a sports injury?
Depends on the injury and the sport. Acute injuries with no structural damage often resolve in 4 to 8 visits. Chronic compensation patterns take longer. I will give you a realistic estimate at the assessment, not a generic 12-week plan.
